WISPR Systems has always built its roadmap around one goal: giving research teams, universities, and field professionals the most capable, reliable American-made drone platforms available. As that roadmap evolves, so does our product lineup, and today we’re announcing that we are sunsetting the Ranger Pro Series.
This wasn’t a decision we made lightly. The Ranger Pro has been a workhorse for research institutions, environmental scientists, and surveying teams for years, and we’re proud of what our customers have accomplished with it, from methane detection studies with Laser Falcon to large-scale LiDAR mapping projects across the country. Retiring the platform means we can focus our full engineering and support resources on the next generation of WISPR drones.
What This Means If You Already Own a Ranger Pro
Here’s the most important part: if you’re a current Ranger Pro customer, nothing changes for you today. We will continue to support the Ranger Pro Series for all existing customers, including access to our support resources, software updates, and our team for any questions about your system.
You don’t need to do anything right now. Your Ranger Pro will keep flying, and we’ll keep standing behind it.
Say Hello to SkyScout 2 and SkyScout 2+
Moving forward, our SkyScout 2 Series is the platform we’re building around. SkyScout 2 and SkyScout 2+ pick up where Ranger Pro left off, with meaningful improvements in flight performance, payload flexibility, and compliance credentials, including SkyScout 2+’s recent addition to the DCMA’s Blue UAS Cleared List.
